Power Division recommends that NEPRA waive fees for solar users up to 25 kilowatts (70 to 75 Solar Panels)

Under the new law, the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) made NEPRA licenses and application fees mandatory for solar users of 25 kW and below, whereas under the old 2015 law, these users did not require a NEPRA license, and electricity distribution companies processed applications without any fee. On the instructions of the Federal Minister of Energy, the Power Division has recommended to NEPRA to repeal this law. Their stance is that this law has imposed an additional burden on domestic solar users and has created many other bureaucratic complications, while efforts to promote renewable energy could also be affected.
