China's member in the United Nations Security Council Fu Cong rejected this resolution, saying that if this matter is pursued, it will undermine diplomatic efforts to resolve the issue. The better solution is to encourage the parties to engage in serious and acceptable negotiations. Various diplomatic circles have indicated that if a vote occurs on this resolution, China and Russia will veto it.
