برطانیہ اور اسپین نے ایران کے خلاف جنگ میں امریکہ کا ساتھ دینے سے صاف انکار کیا تھا۔ ٹرمپ مختلف حیلوں بہانوں سے ان دونوں ممالک پر پریشر بڑھا نے کی کوشش کر رہا ہے۔ برطانیہ کے لیے ٹرمپ کی طرف سے جس کارڈ کا استعمال کیا جا رہا ہے وہ ارجنٹینا اور برطانیہ کے مابین متنازعہ "Falkland Islands" کا ہے۔ 1982 میں برطانیہ اور ارجنٹینا کے درمیان ان جزیروں کی ملکیت پر ایک مختصر جنگ بھی ہو چکی ہے جس میں ارجنٹینا کو ہتھیار ڈالنے پڑے۔ امریکہ کا دعویٰ ہے کہ اس جنگ میں امریکہ نے ڈائریکٹ ملٹری انوالومنٹ کے علاوہ باقی مختلف محازوں پر برطانیہ کا ساتھ دیا اور سفارتی محاز پر برطانیہ کے موقف کی حمائت کی۔ اب امریکہ کا کہنا ہے کہ وہ ان جزیروں کی برطانوی ملکیت کے موقف کی حمائت پر ازسرنو جائزہ لے گا۔ جبکہ جزیرے کے رہائشیوں نے برطانیہ کے ماتحت رہنے کی تصدیق کی ہے۔ اسپین کے لیے جو پریشر کارڈ استعمال کیا جا رہا ہے وہ یہ ہے کہ اسپین کو نیٹو سے نکلنا ہوگا۔ وجہ یہ پیش کی جا رہی ہے کہ اسپین نیٹو کے مقاصد پورے نہیں کر رہا۔ جبکہ اسپین کے وزیر اعظم کا کہنا ہے کہ اسپین نیٹو کا ایک قابل اعتماد رکن ہے جو اس کے سارے مقاصد پورے کرتا ہے لیکن بین الاقوامی قانونی حدود کے اندر رہ کر۔ اور ایران جنگ بین الاقوامی قوانین کی خلاف ورزی ہے۔ اور میں اپنے موقف پر قائم ہوں۔ جرمنی اور اٹلی نے اسپین کی حمائت کی ہے۔
